The Opportunity: 

Grade 2 Acute Dietitian - Weekend (Casual)

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic dietitian to join the team at Northern Health.

The role will require high level expertise within acute dietetics, particularly complex surgical, medical patients and critical care patients and be based at The Northern Hospital – Epping.

This position will work closely with the multidisciplinary team including medical staff, nursing staff, allied health clinicians and other relevant operational staff to deliver high quality dietetic services.  Staff are expected to work a minimum of one weekend (inclusive of Saturday and Sunday) approximately every 4-6 weeks, and nominate for public holiday cover throughout the year.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the area of acute adult nutrition (critical care, complex surgical and medical patients)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills that facilitate an ability to work
  • An ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide staff/ community education
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Competent computer skills particularly in word processing and Internet use, and the
  • ability to learn dedicated software
  • Understanding of the cultural diversity of the community
  • Current Victorian Driver License
