About the Role

Join our team as a Food Service Dietitian on a full time Monday-Friday, ongoing to work at Monash Health.

Operating within a multi-disciplinary context, the Food Service Dietitian will provide dietetic expertise to Food Services within Monash health. The Food Service Dietitian will work collaboratively with Support Services, Food Service Departments, Nutrition and Dietetics, Speech Pathology and residential Aged Care to provide safe, nutritious, high quality food that is in line with Monash Health policies, Nutrition and Food Quality Standards for Victorian Hospitals and aged care and the Aged Care Quality Standards. The Food Service Dietitian works in conjunction with the Delegate Dietitian and the Central Production Kitchen Dietitian. The Food Service Dietitian is responsible for:

  • Coordinating the review and development of Monash Health menus and associated Food Service systems
  • Processing product reviews
  • Coordinating and undertaking appropriate projects
  • Training and development of relevant employees
  • Monitoring compliance with Monash Health procedures,
  • Contribute to the overall quality, education and research aspects of Food Services

About You

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

Outline skills / experience / attitude:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Nutrition and Dietetics, including sound background knowledge of Food Services
  • Demonstrated understanding of menu planning principles and application/translation of complex therapeutic nutrition management to the Food Service environment.
  • Specialist experience in clinical Food Service management and working knowledge, experience and competency with computerised menu management systems and Food Service delivery models
  • Demonstrated understanding of food safety principles in high risk Food Service settings

Mandatory requirements of the role - qualifications, licences, memberships:

  • Hold a Dietitians Australia accredited dietetics degree or hold a Dietitians Australia mutually recognised dietetics degree from New Zealand or have passed the Dietitians Dietetic Skills Recognition (DSR) process
  • Member of Dietitians Australia with Accredited Practising Dietitian status
