The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic dietitian to join the team at Northern Health. Grade 2 DietitianCommonwealth Home Support Program: Full Time until 25/6/26, ongoing part time 24 hours week thereafter
The role will require expertise managing the nutritional needs of vulnerable adults funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Program, including clients with progressive neurological conditions and requiring Home Enteral Nutrition. The role works across Bundoora Centre and will work closely with the community multidisciplinary team and interpreters to deliver high quality dietetic services.
This position will work closely with the multidisciplinary team including medical staff, nursing staff, allied health clinicians and other relevant operational staff to deliver high quality dietetic services.
The role will require staff to be flexible with their working hours to meet the changing operations demands and can include working after hours, on weekends and public holidays. Staff will be required to travel and work across the various Northern Health campuses, programs, and partner organisations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the area of aged care adult nutrition (subacute/rehabilitation, oral nutrition support)
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills that facilitate an ability to work within a team environment.
- An ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide staff/ community education.
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Competent computer skills particularly in word processing and Internet use, and the ability to learn dedicated software.
- Understanding of the cultural diversity of the community.
- Current Victorian Driver License
Desirable:
- Experience managing patients with progressive neurological conditions and patients requiring Home Enteral Nutrition, including experience in gastrostomy tube management
- Experience managing clients requiring CHSP
