About the opportunity
The C&K Marketing department is seeking an experienced Digital and Social Media Marketing professional for a seven-month parental leave cover. Join a close-knit marketing team who are friendly, creative, supportive, and have fun while working hard! This position is hands-on and offers variety with the opportunity to learn new skills within a dynamic and vibrant team.
In this fast-paced, exciting role, you will work alongside the Digital and Social Media Manager, assisting with managing our website and our Social Media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).
About you
Our ideal Digital and Social Media Coordinator is highly creative, has strong planning and organizational skills, can work autonomously but also fit in our collaborative and supportive working culture.
You will own the creative space, developing and writing digital content that reflects our brand voice, ethos, and strategy, and that speaks to each of our target audiences. You will also own website day-to-day tasks, liaising with internal stakeholders and our external developer.

Located at our C&K Central Head Office in Kedron (North Brisbane), this role will see you working part-time, 30.4 hours per week, ideally over four days, with the option to work one day a week from home.

As part of a collaborative Marketing team, you will have exposure across all areas of marketing. You will broaden your knowledge from experienced and qualified team members while having your skills and expertise valued. With a much anticipated new website launching in mid-2024, you will hit the ground running with training and opportunities for growth while utilising your skillset.
The role may include occasional weekend work to cover events or filming, as well as minimal rostered out-of-hours Social Media monitoring.
The role:
- Source, write and schedule organic Social Media content (posts and stories), boosting when applicable
- Edit images and create content using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
- iPhone videography and photography skills are highly desirable - we shoot, edit, and publish Reels regularly
- Plan and implement our content calendar, liaising with multiple internal stakeholders
- Grow C&K’s online community by engaging with C&K families
- Liaise with C&K centres to source photos and stories, advising on appropriate content and digital marketing communications as needed.
- Monitor community queries and feedback in our social channels and Google My Business
- Coordinate with external professional videographers on video projects
- Maintain the C&K website: write, design/mock-up, and edit pages, create forms and landing pages, suggest, and manage user improvement projects
- Coordinate with an external developer on website troubleshooting and improvements
- Measure and report on channel performance, providing actionable insights/recommendations, and executing these within the content plan and the website content/functionality
- Support other departments as a subject matter expert, providing advice or escalating as appropriate.
You might also support the Marketing team occasionally by:
- Researching and writing content for C&K’s website, ensuring consistency and compliance with C&K’s brand and style guides.
- Creating sponsored ads in Facebook Ads Manager and LinkedIn (training can be provided)
- Updating the Marketing Intranet page
What you’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification(s) in marketing, communications or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 2 + years demonstrated experience working in a similar role (website management with Social Media and content production experience preferred but not essential).
- Highly organised with demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks.
- Solid understanding of Social Media channels and their audiences.
- Proven ability to plan and manage a content calendar.
- Proven ability to write and edit engaging copy (a storyteller at heart!) to specific audiences and take photos and videos (video production training can be provided to the right candidate).
- Proven ability working with a CMS platform (Drupal highly regarded) and managing small website projects.
- Experience with Social Media tools, web analytics and basic HTML.
- Capable of working autonomously, but also collaboratively as part of a small team
- A customer centric approach, providing exceptional customer service to families and C&K staff
- Motivated with great attention to detail and personal drive
- Ability to foster positive relationships
- Graphic design skills are highly desirable
- Current driver’s license
