Island Records Australia is the country's premium recording and music label for Australian artists. We are a passionate team committed to artistry and are looking for our next Digital & Social Manager. You would be joining a forward-thinking team that knows the rate of change in the industry and gets ahead of it. We want someone that can come in and deliver amazing campaigns for an incredible roster. We need a proactive and driven team player, great communicator, and optimistic thinker.
Working across a wide range of artists and music genres, the Digital & Social Manager will be responsible for supporting the Director of Digital & Social Strategy in creating, delivering, and coordinating digital marketing campaigns for our domestic and international releases. They will be tasked in developing fanbases online through effective content and community activation, empowering artists in communicating their identity within the online space, and in turn growing their overall audience, engagement, and discoverability.
The role
Develop and execute audience growth and engagement strategies that drive the awareness and consumption of our domestic repertoire locally and globally
Coordinate, create and deliver creative assets (audio/static/audiovisual) for digital, social and streaming platforms across label & artist channels
Produce high quality and engaging content - from ideation, examples, capture ('content days'), edits, and delivery; and sourcing artist/genre-relevant references to guide content planning and execution
Assist in developing data capture strategy across online channels (including email, SMS, online communities, websites builds & maintenance, newsletter templates, coordinating T&Cs) to ensure data is captured at all opportunities
Analyse and conduct channel audits across all label and artist social profiles to ensure peak visibility and performance, working alongside the wider team/s to optimise and action updates accordingly (profile optimisation, lyric syncs etc)
Manage strategy, rollout and content distribution across label and artist channels
Drive e-commerce success through social media and websites
Identify content, community, and creator/influencer & platform collaboration opportunities for our artists
Utilise digital trends and new tech + platform developments, aiming to deliver creative and innovative social-first campaigns
Assist in establishing the online tone, branding and presence of each artist, telling their story and bringing their vision to life online
Develop & execute initiatives to drive social followers across streaming services, including YouTube subscribers, Spotify followers, Apple Music Pre-adds and more
Be knowledgeable on best practice guidelines and uses of the different social media platforms & tools to help educate and mentor artists in developing their online profiles
Report social growth, engagement and activity highlights on all relevant metrics
Collaborate with your Marketing, Promo, Creative, Commercial, A&R and Audience team colleagues to fully deliver on an artist vision
Work with the Digital & commercial team to help ensure a consistent dialogue across the label to maintain a forward-thinking digital approach
Build and maintain relationships across the industry with social networks, digital agencies, influencers/creators, and anyone else that will help us build audiences for our artists
Understand and police the Universal Content Guidelines and educate artist / management on implementation
About you
Be social media savvy and able to execute on a creative vision
Knowledge of eCRM best practice and how to grow and nurture email databases
Be strategic, commercial, collaborative, and a team player
Experience working in digital marketing in entertainment (ideally within Music Industry)
Passionate about music, social media, data, and the digital landscape
Have a great understanding of a wide variety of social media including short-form content platforms (FB/IG Reels, YT Shorts, TikTok), online communities (Discord, Twitch, Reddit, fan-led pages on FB Groups/IG/X etc), streaming services, and other digital platforms, and their data analysis
Experience in community and social channel management a bonus
Experience in teams delivering multiple fan and partner activations, and the ability to remain flexible and be able to prioritise own workload
Highly organised individual that not only keeps calm, but thrives under pressure, working to strict deadlines and delivering for multiple stakeholders
Natural creative eye and ability to ideate bringing the artist vision to life digitally
Experience with content ideation (particularly short-form), capture, editing and delivery - basic level filming, editing and audio recording of live video content
Software knowledge and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Canva; HTML editors such as Dreamweaver, video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut, and Microsoft Excel/Google sheets + docs
WordPress experience + knowledge of how to get a website live a bonus HTML & CSS skills
Ability to network and build relationships across digital partners and social networks. Existing relationships extremely desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels within the business
Tactful and diplomatic, especially when dealing with Artists and Management
Experience in commissioning/producing audio/visual content and assets
Influencer marketing knowledge
