Capital College is an award-winning CRICOS RTO based in Canberra's CBD. We’re now seeking an experienced Trainer and Assessor for our newly developed Diploma of Community Services course, commencing in March 2024 on a part time/casual basis.
The Role
This training role will be delivered face-to-face in our campus, and you will need to already live near or be willing to relocate to our campus location (Canberra ACT). There is some flexibility with delivery times/days, with the possibility of weekend and after-hours sessions to fit the right applicant.
Your key responsibilities would include:
- Prepare for and deliver face to face classes at our College Campus in Canberra
- Grade student assessments
- Provide students with timely feedback and support
- Undertake professional development to ensure industry currency
- Organise and support students through their required work placement hours and supervise students throughout as required
- Collate feedback from students promptly and liaise with the Campus Manager to ensure that student related issues are resolved effectively
- Monitor and support students progression and manage interventions as required
- Participate in assessment and resource validation as part of the Training Team
The essential requirements for this role include:
- Diploma or higher in Community Services and/or related discipline
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment including LLN unit (TAE40116)
- A minimum of 2 years working within the Community Services sector
- Proven knowledge and understanding of the Community Services sector and its various streams of work.
- Ability to engage the class and draw on own experiences to provide students with a rich learning experience
- Demonstrated capacity to motivate and coach students to excel in their course
- Proactive and positive approach to teaching adult learners
Desirable:
- Experience in a training and assessment role, preferably in the industry sector
- Experience working with or training international students
- Qualifications and experience in Certificate III Individual Support
- Flexibility to accommodate Capital College course scheduling
- Availability to commence late February/early March 2024
