Overview
We are looking for a Direct Care Worker to join our Community Health Team in providing high quality based care to consumers, ensuring optimal level of services are maintained, meeting changing needs.
In this role, you will provide high quality support to frail, older people, maximising their independence at home and in the community. In providing high quality support, you are ensuring that all consumers, including those with special needs, have equity of access to services that are socially and culturally appropriate and free from discrimination.
A Direct Care Worker has the ability to function under direct supervision and exercise necessary independent judgement in a professional non-judgemental manner and the ability to work as a team member in a multidisciplinary team to maintain a positive work environment.
Eligibility
Applicants are encouraged to have previous experience and knowledge in health care and the aged care sector and how that relates to the community setting and experience in identifying needs while working closely with consumers, families and carers.
We are looking for applicants with good communication skills both oral and written, ability to empathise with aged/disabled persons/carers/colleagues and other agencies and experience in the use of computer packages including email.
