We’re undergoing a period of exciting expansion at Kaplan Business School and as such we’re recruiting for an inaugural Director, Academic Enablement to oversee the implementation of projects and to manage the operationalisation of diverse activities.

This newly created role, which reports to the Academic Dean, will additionally be responsible for driving continuous improvement at a dynamic institute of higher education already recognised globally for the highest standards of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will therefore thrive on this rare challenge of further enhancing an already high-performing academic function.

Our ideal candidate is an early-career academic who understands the tactical mechanics of an independent non-university specialising in international education. They will further draw on their renowned talent for stakeholder influence and collaboration since this is a position without direct reports which therefore necessitates the combination of formidable interpersonal skills, a process-oriented mindset and operational nous if ambitious strategic initiatives are to be implemented in full.

Primary responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end implementation of academic projects
• Oversee the operationalisation and ongoing coordination of academic activities
• Lead internal and external reviews, benchmarking and compliance obligations
• Coordinate academic awards, scholarships and related programs
• Serve as a key contact for the team of RPL assessors and escalated complaints

Main requirements

• Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (or advancing toward completion)
• Track record of initiating and managing projects and process improvements
• Expansive knowledge of quality assurance, risk mitigation and systems thinking
• Appreciation for the needs of international students and their factors of success
• Impeccable attention to detail with an ability to cultivate this skill in others
