Mackay Regional Council is looking for a dynamic leader to fill the pivotal role of Director Corporate Services. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide leadership to throughout the organisation and the region, you will work with some of our amazing staff whilst being accountable for various teams such as financial services, customer services, information services, procurement, and people and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic financial planning and budgetary processes to support operational activities.
- Oversee procurement strategy to ensure adherence to budgetary, quality, safety, and timeframe targets whilst ensuring value for money to the ratepayer.
- Manage the delivery of secure and up-to-date information technology solutions and corporate applications.
- Develop and implement strategic directions for people and culture, fostering an organisational culture aligned with goals.
- Build trust and set expectations for clients, customers, and stakeholders through exemplary customer service.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven track record in developing and implementing shared visions and aligning culture with strategic direction.
- Demonstrated leadership experience fostering innovation, productivity, and outstanding organisational culture.
- Strong relationship-building skills internally and externally to drive outcomes for Council and the community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholder management.
- Ability to manage financial, information, and physical resources strategically within budgetary constraints.
- Proficiency in future-oriented strategic planning and process development within complex environments.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Commerce, Finance, or Local Government, coupled with senior-level experience in the public or private sector relevant to Organisational Services Function.
