The Director Community and Corporate Services reports to the General Manager as part of Council’s Executive Leadership team. The position is responsible for the strategic management of the Community and Corporate Services function including: finance, ICT, legal services, human resources, work health & safety, governance, community development, creative communities, child care, customer service, records, animal management and parking services.
Overseeing a high-performing, five person Directorate management team and 150 dedicated staff, the Director Community and Corporate Services will provide visionary leadership to continue to enhance the organisation’s safe, positive and customer-focused workplace culture. Strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and oversight of a number of exciting strategic projects is also a key focus for the role.
The successful applicant will have a broad senior management background and tertiary qualifications that are relevant to the role. A strategic focus and demonstrated track record in values-based leadership of multi-disciplinary teams along with highly developed people management and change management skills are also essential. Demonstrated capability to oversee key aspects within the scope of the Directorate’s Community and Corporate Services functions together with experience in budgeting and financial management practices and reporting is also required. Exposure to local government or other regulatory environments would be an advantage.
