As Director, Control Tower you will play a strategic leadership role within the organization, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Control Tower function in the supply chain. This role calls for an industry expert with deep domain knowledge of Control Tower operations, leading a team to enhance resource effectiveness, and improve overall process efficiency. The role demands expert facilitation skills to lead solutions and opportunities in the areas of business processes, resource utilization, technology, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the Control Tower operations team, ensuring adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
- Exhibit deep domain knowledge of Control Tower operations and supply chain processes.
- Maintain close cross-functional stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Lead and manage the Control Tower Services team, in-house fleet team, and outsourced carriers’ team to ensure high-level business operations.
- Optimize load and route planning with in-house fleet or outsourced carriers to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.
- Facilitate and coordinate all transportation procedures, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with customer requirements.
- Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and company efficiency.
- Review operations data and performance to provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rate, delivery volumes, service quality, and customer complaints.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to subordinates to enhance their competencies and performance.
- Implement and maintain a fully functional supply chain management infrastructure.
- Incorporate best practices and technologies to streamline operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, serving as a thought leader in the field.
- Collaborate with various departments to optimize supply chain operations.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources to meet customer requirements.
- Manage budgets and control transport costs to maximize delivery productivity.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in freight, logistics, supply chain management, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in supply chain management, including inventory control, forecasting, production planning/scheduling, purchasing, distribution, and logistics.
