We specialise in courses that address current skills shortages for several industries: Information & Communication Technology, Hospitality, Commercial Cookery, Community Services, Aged Care, Childhood Education & Care, Digital Marketing, Business, Leadership & Management. We also offer postgraduate courses and professional year programs.

The Opportunity

The Registrar is responsible for Higher Education Department’s compliance matters, student records, transcripts and student support services, and all non-academic student matters. The Registrar is the official authorised keeper of Stanley College Higher Education’s student records. This role is a member of the Academic Board, Learning and Teaching Committee and Board of Examiners. The Registrar supervises the following functions within the Higher Education Department:

• Admissions

• Student Progress

• Graduation

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Stanley College’s registration activities; consult with other key personnel to devise registration schedules and procedures.

• Oversee student administration and student support matters for the Higher Education Department.

• Oversee student support matters including orientation, attendance, course progress, student engagement, interventions, complaints and appeals, wellbeing programs and emergencies.

• Oversee the issuance of student transcripts and testamurs.

• Oversee the planning of class timetables and coordinate room allocations for optimum use of classrooms.

• Collaborate with the marketing department for publication of brochures in Stanley College’s website and social media platforms.

• Provide reports on student enrolments, course progress and other matters to the Academic Board and relevant committees.

• Identify enrolment trends and patterns of transfers and withdrawal across the College and provide recommendations to the Dean – Higher Education to assist with strategic planning.

• Provide projected statistics for the following academic year and up-to-date forecast figures for upcoming semesters, and student retention reports to the Dean HE for the Academic Board report as required.

• Prepare and provide statistical data and information to government departments (TEQSA; Department of Education; CRICOS registration; FEE-HELP; DHA) and assist with audit visits arising from the submission of data to government agencies.

The Successful Candidate will have:

• Extensive experience in administrative management of student records and services.

• Knowledge and understanding of common approaches, policies and processes relating to student support for a range of cohorts, including both domestic and international.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

• Understanding of first year student experience and transition pedagogy.

• Excellent leadership and staff management skills

• Current knowledge of the requirements of the ESOS Act 2000 and the National Code 2018 together with a working understanding of Department of Education and Training (DET) requirements for managing international students.
