The role of Director of Domestic Violence & Homelessness is available, and it calls for a visionary leader who can make a profound impact. Our client is deeply committed to supporting women who have experienced complex traumas, including domestic and sexual violence, mental health challenges, substance abuse, homelessness, and interactions with the ACT corrections system.
Reporting to the CEO the Director will be accountable for leading the delivery of service relating to Domestic Violence and Homelessness, including clinical considerations, governance, evaluations methodology, staff performance and financial management.
This role will involve;
- Contribute to the leadership, strategy, priorities, and finances of the women's service, aligning efforts with the organization's Business Plan.
- Ensure the clear understanding and implementation of service delivery principles, frameworks, and legislations governing the service.
- Lead and manage internal transformation and change initiatives while seeking opportunities for sector-wide impact.
- Contribute to strategic workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, succession planning, and professional development.
- Analyze data, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
- Formulate and execute extensive projects or programs aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Support existing services and establish new programs, policies, and practices, ensuring outcomes-focused delivery through financial management and evidence-based care.
- Provide specialized advice on policy matters, including government policies.
- Represent the organization and advocate its position professionally in external contexts, such as committees and forums.
- Ensure comprehensive and holistic continuation of care for all clients across the services.
The requirements for this role include;
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or related field
- Experience working with women who experience alcohol and drug dependencies, mental health concerns, Domestic Violence, and incarceration.
- Demonstrated formal leadership experience within the community services field
- Detailed knowledge of sector policy, programs, guidelines, procedures and practices.
- Valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration and a satisfactory National Police Check.
- Current driver's license and willingness to drive.
- Ability to work in office
