The Director's responsibility is to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the 150 place Early Learning Centre in Sydney. They will be also responsible for establishing a culture that fosters collaboration amongst educators and support staff, parents and community leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning, preparation and implementation of the programme, based on the National Early Year Learning Framework.
- Ensure the programme reflects the centres' Philosophy.
- Support an atmosphere and learning climate of play, nurturing, respect and love.
- Foster a harmonious working environment for staff
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the curriculum and policies
- Implement procedures for teachers to assess children, evaluate progress and report regularly to parents.
- Foster positive relationships with children, staff and families.
- Implement the centres protocols in all duties and responsibilities.
- Chair meetings and functions as required.
- Organise after school activities when necessary.
- Facilitate on-going professional development programmes.
- Participate in an on-going, professional growth and appraisal programme.
- Facilitate school staff meetings.
- Ensure engaging learning as well as physical safety and emotional well-being for children.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate records for each child.
- Supervising the planning, preparation and implementation of the programme, based on the National Early Years Learning Framework.
- Provide a developmentally stimulating environment.
- Maintain the centre’s resources and facilities in an appropriate condition.
- Interview, select & appoint staff in collaboration with MD and ensure ongoing mentoring.
- Responsible for generating enrolments and maintenance of occupancy.
Policy Development:
- Where necessary, develop together with HR policies and procedures
- Monitor use and relevance of policies and update as necessary.
- Assist in putting processes in place to make policies accessible to all staff.
- Train staff in application of policies.
Education/Training/Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood. Previous experience in childhood education (minimum 7 years). Good understanding ACECQA and the national framework of education. Good written skills and exposure to use of web and emails. Solid experience in providing support and solutions in a teaching environment.
