Our ESG Advisory & Assurance (Safeguarding of Vulnerable People) practice supports our clients to keep their vulnerable customers and consumers safe, to provide high quality and safe services, ensuring that vulnerable people are not harmed or exploited and are given the care and support they need to thrive.

Safeguarding of Vulnerable People of Vulnerable supports clients to prevent harm to vulnerable people, meet their regulatory obligations and maintain the trust that their customers, consumers - or the community that they serve - have in them. Our goal is to make sure our clients have the safeguards in place to prevent harm to vulnerable customers and consumers from occurring, to detect it should it occur and help ensure they continuously learn and improve so that vulnerable people can thrive.

This includes supporting vulnerable customers and consumers to understand their rights, and empowering them to speak up, as well as ensure that the systems, processes, and policies to protect and promote safety and well-being, such as strong complaints mechanisms, are in place. We work with our clients to implement robust safeguards to prevent harm.

Your Opportunity

As a Director in our Safeguarding of Vulnerable People of Vulnerable People business, you’ll work with extraordinary people who are passionate and courageous about empowering and creating safe environments for vulnerable customers and consumers, including children, young people and vulnerable adults by supporting clients that serve vulnerable consumers and customers across a variety of organisations in the Health, Ageing and Human Services, Education, Financial Services and Energy and Retail sectors to meet and exceed their Safeguarding of Vulnerable People requirements. You will:

  • Work closely with the Partner to make our impact even greater by growing our Safeguarding of Vulnerable People practice by driving sales and new business initiatives across Australia.
  • Lead your own sales and business development activities and meet Key Performance Metrics.
  • Be a people leader in our purpose led team and provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Manage and execute multiple client engagements or components of large engagements at one time, to deliver high quality services on time, as well as individually contributing to high-quality deliverables.
  • Lead our purpose led team in delivering unique, innovative and strategic solutions that will enhance our client’s Safeguarding of Vulnerable People approach, including:
    • Vulnerable Customers including defining vulnerability and designing systems and processes that place vulnerable people at the centre
    • Child Safeguarding
    • Review, design and development of Safeguarding of Vulnerable People regulation and compliance
    • Safeguarding of Vulnerable People risk and governance
    • Assessment of Safeguarding of Vulnerable People culture and conduct
    • Training and capacity building as it relates to Safeguarding of Vulnerable People
    • Complaints and incident management
    • Quality and Safeguarding of Vulnerable People.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in the delivery of quality services to clients, providing value add solutions to client’s problems.
  • Be proactive and demonstrate curiosity.
  • Lead the facilitation of stakeholder engagement and client workshops.
  • Have the emotional intelligence and people skills required to support team members when they encounter challenging situations.
  • Recognise the importance of continuous learning and actively take ownership and responsibility for your own professional development.

  • A minimum of twelve years’ experience in governance, risk, compliance and finance roles within professional services or consultancies in sectors that serve and support vulnerable consumers.
  • Extensive experience in client / stakeholder relationship management and business development
  • A deep expertise and passion for facilitating and presenting to diverse groups, including one-on-one and group consultations, preferably gained in a professional services firm and/or large corporate.
  • Experience in designing, implementing and/or carrying out risk, governance and compliance frameworks, standards, audits and reviews. Internal auditing or experience with regulators and compliance investigations will be advantageous.
  • Your ability to relate to people and understand motivations and drivers will have been key to your success in leading and/or influencing at a senior level.
Qualifications

Tertiary qualification preferably in social sciences, commerce, health, human services or similar.
