The Role:

This role is responsible for supporting the Manager, Head of, Executive and Group MLRO deliver Risk Oversight and advice, to support the NAB Group manage and mitigate its AML/CTF and Fraud risks.

The Role and Day to Day Will Include:

  • Providing advice to NAB's Business & Private Bank on its AML/CTF and Fraud Risk.
  • Perform thematic or risk-based reviews in response to a change in the internal or external environment.
  • Monitor risk appetite settings and tolerances.
  • Advise the business on financial crime risk identification to ensure the appropriate escalation, recording, reporting and remediation of AML & Fraud issues.
  • Provide insights to Senior Management and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work as an effective team member, supporting peers and recognising the contributions of others to ensure the achievement of team goals.
  • Demonstrate and provide professional and ethical behaviour in your actions by ensuring compliance with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position.

What You Will Bring:

To be successful in this role the candidate will need to deal with and build trust with key stakeholders; provide insights through understanding the internal environment; understand the external market (particularly in relation to Financial Crime trends and challenges) and be able to think critically and make decisions autonomously.

Applicants will also be expected to have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Compliance or Risk Management, preferability within Financial Services and with a focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) and/or Fraud.
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Crime requirements and regulations locally and globally relating to AML/CTF and Fraud Risk.
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance testing standards and methodologies.
  • Experience in drafting and implementing control test scripts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, influencing and negotiating abilities and time management.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to understand broader business issues.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast moving and demanding environment.
