The Facilities function sits within the broader Business Services division. The position of Director strategically leads and manages the Office Accommodation, Fleet Services and Government Officer Regional Housing (GROH; for Communities’ staff) directorate. The Director Facilities, operating as a conduit between the facilities directorate, the broader department, Government Office Accommodation, is accountable for developing and implementing strategies to acquire and/or lease, manage and optimise the office accommodation and fleet services (land, buildings, fleet, equipment) required by the Department.
The position develops and maintains strong collaborative links and partnerships with other Communities Directorates, Regional Offices and will be a member of the Business and Operational Support Services Division’s Leadership Team. The role contributes to the strategic planning and policy development processes. The Director is also responsible for the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships and strong collaborative links with Government and non-Government Agencies and Organisations.
The Director leads the coordination of Strategic Office Accommodation Planning, Fleet Management and associated Capital Planning processes in collaboration with the Department of Finance. A key project the Director will lead is the delivery of the consolidation of the Community Services office accommodation portfolio in regional towns and metropolitan hubs, aligning the portfolio with Communities’ four strategic asset management objectives: safety and security, asset suitability, asset utilisation and life-cycle management. This full time, Senior Executive Service appointment is for a period of up to 5 years with possibility of extension and will be based in Fremantle.
