Director Interventions and Innovation

  • Based in Paramatta - hybrid and flexible arrangements available.
  • Temporary role to 30 June 2027.
  • $239,483- $263,586 total remuneration payable

Your role

In the Director of Interventions & Innovations role, you will be responsible for providing professional and organisational leadership to guide the development, implementation, evaluation and reform of a range of government programs. Women, family and community safety programs will be key areas of focus, including countering violence extremism and domestic and family violence perpetrator interventions.

What you'll do

You will lead a diverse team and work across relevant divisions and agencies to foster a collaborative approach to program delivery, with a focus on optimising strategic alignment and the achievement of key business outcomes.

You will also:

  • Drive the delivery of evidence based, integrated and responsive service solutions that meet the diverse needs of women, families and communities.
  • Provide expert strategic, high-level advice to executive leadership teams on current, evolving and emerging policy and politically sensitive issues to facilitate informed decision making.
  • Deliver major policy and reform initiatives and programs relevant to women family and community safety to ensure targeted strategies are implemented safely, as planned and within agreed timeframes, resource and budget constraints.
  • Direct team management, program and work planning priorities to enable the delivery of high-quality support and advice consistent with government objectives.
  • Manage the commissioning, performance, industry development, and sector growth for relevant program areas to enable the delivery of quality programs and services.
  • Lead the identification, scoping, design and implementation of specific programs targeted at women, family and community safety.
  • Oversee a highly diverse, specialised and complicated portfolio of responsibilities in an agile team environment, including by engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders with competing interests and priorities.

What we're looking for

  • Passion and interest in creating a sustainable and evidence-based service system that is flexible and adaptive to changing needs.
  • Experience managing programs with multi-sector delivery complexities in a budget and resource constrained environment.
  • Experience working in countering violent extremism and/or domestic and family violence perpetrator policy/program delivery.
  • Leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading cross-agency project delivery in a public sector context
