First Nations Strategy & Partnerships Division, Department is Education is seeking a dynamic, culturally capable Director to join our organisation on a temporary basis to 31 January 2025, unless otherwise determined.
This unique opportunity will see you managing our investment supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to realise their potential and to design culturally capable and effective programs.
You will work across the department and other government agencies as well as the community through innovative engagement and co-design to identify and design programs and initiatives to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.

About the Role
As the Director, you will:
- Lead and manage investment in programs tailored to supporting improved outcomes for First Nations students and their families.
- Lead and manage evaluations and innovative engagement strategies with stakeholders to commissioning effective programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide strategic direction and professional, authoritative, and influential strategic policy advice to inform policy, program, and project development on strategic policy issues.
- Provide high level program management and contract management leadership to ensure value for money and the delivery of improved outcomes for First Nations students and their families.
- Collaborate and engage with stakeholders and partners, including through innovative engagement strategies Commissioning and co-design processes, to identify effective solutions and initiatives to support department to deliver on its strategic objectives.
- Lead and contribute to culturally capable evaluations of departmental programs and initiatives to support future investment decisions and continuous improvement.
- Prepare, oversee and provide advice on high level submissions, reports, papers, statements, briefings and correspondence on complex issues.
- Manage, coordinate and undertake high level research and analysis activities to support the provision of advice to the Executive Director.
