Job description

This is for a Fixed Term Full Time appointment at 1.0FTE for 5 years.

  • Hours are negotiable, and part time would be considered
  • We would be supportive of a postholder who wishes to work a portion of their time in a clinical role

Postition Description: The Director of Medical Education leads the development of Medical Education at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group (FSFHG). You will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Medical Education for all medical staff in prevocational (Interns, Resident Medical Officers) and vocational (Registrars, Senior Registrars, Fellows and Consultants) positions. You will also develop innovative Medical Education strategies based on best practice and targeted towards individual medical groups. This is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate with the breadth of experience and expertise to establish FSFHG as a centre of excellence in Medical Education.

Area Profile: Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

Fremantle Hospital is a specialist hospital service, with 264 beds. Fremantle Hospital plays a vital role in supporting the tertiary services of Fiona Stanley Hospital and in the ongoing delivery of services to patients within the South Metropolitan Health Service. We offer a range of services including mental health, aged care, rehabilitation and elective surgical.
