Lead the Future of Mental Healthcare in the Kimberley.

This is for a Permanent Full Time or Fixed Term Full Time appointment. Fixed Term appointments include the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive clinical governance and leadership, ensuring adherence to national Mental Health standards and legislative frameworks.
  • Develop culturally appropriate services that embrace interventions such as traditional healing.
  • Lead the strategic development, coordination, integration, and evaluation of Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Mental Health management team to align strategies with Commonwealth, State, and WACHS Mental Health initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship, oversee training, manage administrative functions, conduct workforce planning, and coordinate leave schedules for a dynamic team of doctors.
  • Depending on your psychiatric expertise and service requirements, you'll also have clinical responsibilities.

Your work will be at the core of the remote healthcare landscape in the Kimberley, where Team Leaders and their dedicated teams consistently provide high-quality care.

Comprehensive Team Support: You won't navigate this journey alone. Our Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service team consists of approximately 150 dedicated professionals working together to provide holistic care.

You directly oversee a team of nine, which includes psychiatrists and registrars, you will directly shape their clinical development while maintaining the highest standards of care delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Registered medical practitioner with specialist AHPRA registration.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
