Brisbane Girls Grammar School
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is one of Australia’s leading girls’ schools, established in 1875 as one of Queensland’s original Grammar schools. An academically non-selective independent school, BGGS provides a broad, liberal education for 1530 girls in Years 7 to 12.
Girls Grammar strives to enrich girls’ lives through learning, establishing the educational foundation for young women to contribute confidently to their world with wisdom, imagination and integrity. The School’s curious, adventurous and principled students are nurtured by dedicated, expert staff, and supported by a community of parents, alumnae and friends that values the finest traditions and aspirations in education.
The School is seeking a highly experienced Director of Development and Alumnae Relations to lead a comprehensive strategy to support the School’s philanthropic priorities and financial goals.
This will include leading the School’s fundraising for major gifts, representing the School and advocating the benefits of philanthropic support to potential donors and cultivating and building relationships with an extensive network of stakeholders to actively advance philanthropy. This strategic and influential role reports to the Principal and works closely with the School’s highly accomplished Senior Leadership Team, supported by an experienced team of two Development and Alumnae Relations staff.
Our new Director of Development and Alumnae Relations will join Brisbane Girls Grammar School as we enter an exciting new era with the introduction of Years 5 and 6 in 2026, and approach our 150th anniversary in 2025, which offers a rare and exciting opportunity to contribute strategically and meaningfully to one of Australia’s leading girls’ schools as it articulates its vision for the future of girls’ education in Australia.
