The Director of Major Gifts oversees the teams managing giving from individuals between $10,000 and $2.5Million. This role will work with the GM, Philanthropy to develop and effectively execute individual giving strategies with the aim of securing meaningful donations in support of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and their strategic priorities.   Overseeing a team of 12, this role is responsible for developing and leading a high performing and engaged team skilled in developing meaningful relationships and securing philanthropic support from individuals that want to become part of the movement of many and make a meaningful impact in children's health.

  As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role is responsible for “running the business” in line with the strategic plan and objectives as set by the Executive Leadership Team. In “running the business”, this role is responsible for leading its team, meeting fundraising targets, monitoring and managing fundraising performance, understand and ensure compliance to policies and procedures.   Acknowledgement of

   Task & Responsibilities What will I be doing?     Fundraising   Responsible for the implementation and execution of fundraising strategy for individuals with the capacity to support the Foundation above $10,000.  Ensure that individual approaches, from identification to cultivation, solicitation, closure, and stewardship, are highly strategic and coordinated across internal and external stakeholders.

  Develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for key campaign prospects and strategic fundraising initiatives. Responsibilities include overseeing timelines, projections and facilitating tactics with leadership gift officers.   Recruit and ensure proper management of related volunteer committees.

  Manage a portfolio of donors (25-50) with the capacity for making 6 and 7 figure gifts.   Assist the GM, Philanthropy, in conjunction with the Director of Product and Impact and SCHN in determining yearly fundraising priorities.   Work with direct reports to create yearly fundraising targets.

   Partner with Foundation colleagues in support of their engagement and solicitation of institutional funders within their areas of responsibility and actively seek their advice regarding existing relationships and opportunities.   Analyse structures and processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending changes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.   Reporting & Systems   Work with GM, Philanthropy on providing timely reports to the SCHF Board and committees.

  Ensure all work with prospects and funders are responsibly documented in the Foundation’s CRM system in a timely manner.   Utilise fundraising data and analytics to provide insights and recommendations on trends, donor engagement, and donor retention strategies.   Collaborate with Finance and Operations to ensure accurate and reliable data reporting and analysis.

  Leverage data-driven insights to guide decision-making and measure the impact of strategic initiatives on business outcomes.   Financial   Prepare annual department budgets and develop multi-year projections as required.   Meet and deliver operational budgets.

  Prepare regular financial metrics and reports for the Board and Executive Leadership Team, and other stakeholders as required.   Extract and analyse financial and operational reports for department activities.   Leadership   Read
