Job description

The Director of Marketing is responsible for spearheading the company’s growth initiatives both domestically and across international markets by driving forward both digital and traditional marketing strategies. This role includes expanding into new geographical areas and product lines, optimising omnichannel solutions, and managing day-to-day operations with the support of the ANZ marketing team.

The Director will develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies, campaigns, and initiatives that enhance brand awareness, engage customers, and boost revenue growth. This position requires a proactive, growth-focused mindset capable of leveraging technology, data analytics, and brand marketing best practices to drive the revenue growth of our online channels. Moreover, the Director of Marketing will ensure that all digital and brand strategies align with Culture Kings identity and overall business goals, leading a team dedicated to achieving these marketing objectives through collaborative and innovative efforts.

Key Objectives

  • Brand Marketing
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with company goals; conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats; define target audiences.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of Marketing professionals; manage hiring and performance evaluations; promote a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Campaign Development and Execution: Design and execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels (digital, social media, print, events); ensure message and brand consistency; monitor and adjust campaigns for optimal results.
  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee the marketing budget; allocate resources effectively to meet objectives; track expenses and ROI.
  • Brand Management: Uphold and enhance the company’s brand identity and reputation; ensure consistency across all marketing initiatives.
  • Market Analysis and Competitor Research: Monitor industry trends and consumer behavior; analyse competitor actions to identify opportunities and threats; make decisions based on market data.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (retail, product development, customer support) to ensure aligned and synergistic efforts; communicate strategies and performance to senior management.
  • Performance Measurement: Set KPIs and metrics to assess marketing effectiveness; regularly report on performance and ROI.
  • Digital Performance
  • Developing Digital Marketing Strategies: Creating comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives, including setting goals, identifying target audiences, and selecting appropriate digital channels.
  • Content Creation and Management: Overseeing the creation, curation, and optimisation of digital content across various platforms, including websites, social media, email, and blogs, to engage audiences and drive traffic.
  • Social Media Management: Planning, executing, and monitoring social media campaigns across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc., to enhance brand presence, foster engagement, and generate leads.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Optimizing website content and structure to improve organic search rankings, increase visibility, and attract relevant traffic from search engines like Google.
  • Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising: Managing PPC campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, or social media advertising platforms to drive targeted traffic, maximize ROI, and achieve advertising goals.
  • Email Marketing: Planning, designing, and executing email marketing campaigns to nurture leads, promote products/services, and maintain customer relationships, while adhering to email marketing best practices and regulations.
  • Analytics and Performance Tracking: Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as website traffic, conversion rates, click-through rates, and ROI to assess campaign effectiveness and identify areas for optimization.
  • Budget Management: Developing and managing digital marketing budgets, allocating resources effectively across different channels and campaigns to achieve optimal results within budgetary constraints.
  • Digital Advertising: Overseeing the creation and management of digital advertising campaigns, including display ads, video ads, and retargeting campaigns, to reach target audiences and drive conversions.
  • Marketing Automation: Implementing marketing automation tools and workflows to streamline processes, personalize communications, and nurture leads throughout the customer journey.
  • Staying Updated on Industry Trends: Keeping abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital marketing to continuously innovate strategies and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Leading and managing a team of digital marketing professionals, fostering collaboration, providing guidance, and ensuring the successful execution of digital marketing initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a senior marketing role, preferably in a within the fashion or niche industry retail sectors, with a proven track record of driving growth.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing strategies, trends, technologies, and analytics.
  • Proven experience developing successful marketing strategies and campaigns with a strong grasp of Marketing principles, branding, and market research.
  • Exceptional project management and organisational skills, combined with the ability to inspire and lead geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective stakeholder management and team leadership.
  • Strong commercial awareness with expertise in managing budgets, meeting target revenues, and achieving profitability.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker, capable of using data to develop insights, identify opportunities, and translate these into actionable and profitable strategies.
  • Proficiency in a variety of platforms and tools, including e-commerce platforms like Shopify, CRM systems, Google Analytics, and marketing automation tools.
  • Innovative and forward-thinking, with a results-driven mindset focused on continuous improvement and achieving tangible results.
