About the Organisation
The Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres extending from Port Macquarie in the south to Coffs Harbour in the north. MNCLHD provides a diverse range of services to a population of approximately 215,000 people. It has a workforce of 4,300 across 7 hospital sites and 10 Community Health Centres, and a budget of approximately $620 million.
A $194 million capital redevelopment and refurbishment program at Coffs Harbour Health Campus was completed in 2022 with delivery of a new state of the art Clinical Services Building, including a new Emergency Department, Operating Theatres, Intensive Care Unit, Inpatient wards and Helipad.

About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Nurse Manager to work with the General Manager (GM) and the Leadership Team for the Coffs Clinical Network during a period of transformational growth and change. The Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Manager of Inpatient Services will lead experienced and caring Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Services teams to deliver exceptional patient care to the people of Coffs Harbour across various specialties such as emergency care, maternity, surgery, paediatric and general medicine disciplines delivered in a brand-new clinical services building and refurbished facilities.
Reporting to the General Manager Coffs Harbour/Coffs Clinical Network Coordinator, the Director of Nursing & Midwifery will:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to increase internal capability, employee engagement and embed a positive workforce culture that aligns with MNCLHD’s CORE values.
- Develop the strategic direction for Nursing, Midwifery & Inpatient Services to contribute to the planning of health service facilities, services, staffing and equipment.
- Engage closely with both internal and external stakeholders to coordinate operational priorities, enhance organisational performance and elevate the human experience for our consumers - this includes within the broader Coffs Clinical Network.
- Oversee and develop a robust governance framework to manage, evaluate and identify areas to enhance organisational performance.
