Leeton Shire Council is seeking a Director of Operations to be an integral part of our Senior Management Team and to contribute to the organisation’s overall direction and results.
As the primary authority for engineering, project management, emergency management services, and integrated service planning, you will uphold best practices aligned with purpose-driven policy and full statutory compliance. Your role as a model of effective business management and exceptional customer service will be complemented by a specific commitment to enhancing service capacity and excellence throughout the Operations Directorate.
In the role, you will oversee financial matters, determining the Directorate budget, managing resource allocations, making significant financial decisions based on rigorous business cases, and identifying revenue optimisation opportunities. Simultaneously, you'll lead the development and implementation of plans aligned with strategic initiatives within the Delivery Program, ensuring compliance with regulations and the establishment of the Council's overall direction.
You will ensure duties adhere to regulations and policies, provide high-quality technical advice, implement modern project management practices, set operational goals, and establish partnerships with government organisations to advance the Council's goals. Your role will also involve undertaking improvement programs, leading/participating in Emergency Management, and fostering a culture of quality assurance and continuous improvement.
To excel in this role, you should possess relevant qualifications in civil engineering or project management, or related disciplines, demonstrate strong leadership experience, exhibit excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and have a solid understanding of local government operations and compliance.
