The Director State Operations drives the strategic delivery of operational initiatives and to oversee emergency response, manage business operations, and prepare the RFS for the future. The State Operations team supports RFS operational capabilities to protect the community and our environment by minimising the impact of fire and other emergencies.
Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner Field Operations, the Director State Operations will be responsible for:
Providing strategic and operational expertise during fire season, ensuring optimal allocation of resource throughout;
Ensuring the RFS is adequately prepared to address the operational challenges of fire season, in collaboration with your colleagues and partner agencies;
Ensuring professional currency with global best practice in emergency services settings;
Proactively anticipating present and future requirements to deliver a globally recognised level of operational proficiency;
Extending the operational capability beyond firefighting to support other agencies and jurisdictions, in line with RFS strategic intent; and
Leading a diverse team, providing comprehensive support for the RFS firefighting responsibilities throughout NSW.
