About the role:
In this role as the Director, Transaction Banking Operations, you will have overall responsibility and accountability for the day-to-day management of the following teams: Trade Services, Operational Support & Documentation (OSD), Payment Services and Bank Guarantees. This covers Oceania, which includes Australia and New Zealand.
You will provide support to Head of Operations, Oceania, in managing and directing critical regulatory reporting activity owned by Operations department including IFTI and PTR reporting.
What you’ll be doing:
Drive change and transformation in line with the Group, Regional, Oceania and Operations strategy, to support management in executing the initiatives and changes needed to support business growth and create efficiencies.
Oversee projects within the department/s to ensure delivery is within scope, on time and on budget.
Innovate and develop new methods, capabilities, and processes to achieve efficient, accurate and smooth operations.
Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.
Work in partnership with Regional Office to seek guidance on regional projects, polices and processes.
Work in partnership with colleagues across various departments to support the implementation of projects across Oceania.
Work in partnership with Relationship Managers and Product Offices to understand unique transaction requests, investigate solutions and support in developing transaction processing solutions.
Work in partnership with various departments to consult on amendments to operational procedures and prepare communication to customers, if required.
Work in partnership with Relationship Managers to visit customers when required, to resolve transaction issues and maintain the relationship with the customer.
Provide leadership and development for approximately 4 direct reports and 20 indirect reports, assigning work, arranging training if necessary, monitoring quality of work and progress, and providing guidance and mentoring.
Build and maintain productive relationships with the frontline business and other functions across the bank to work through transaction issues and to ensure the efficient running of the Transaction Banking processes.
Ensure that the team is operating to the standards of the internal bank policies, procedures are kept updated, relevant external requirements and regulatory reporting obligations are met.
Resource and capacity are managed to meet the demands of the business with ongoing monitoring of capacity and timely recruitment where required.
What we are looking for:
As the successful candidate, you will have a minimum 10 years’ working in financial services, with extensive payments and transactional banking experience and strong regulatory reporting knowledge.
You’ll have experience operating at a senior level and a proven record of successfully leading a team. Good communication, influencing and interpersonal skills are essential to build strong relationships with the frontline business and other functions, and to bring stakeholders on board to drive business outcomes.
College diploma, tertiary qualifications are desirable.
