Disability Support worker
Spry Support Services is an NDIS provider that specializes in the delivery of high-quality Disability Support services to people in Australia.
We support children and adults with sensory, intellectual, neurological, physical, and psychiatric disabilities. We offer a range of services to improve your general quality of life assist with daily living requirements and ultimately work with you to achieve your goals.
We are currently seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team.
We are looking for a client-focused individual, who has a keen interest in the disability sector and looking to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the Role:
The role aims to support our clients with highly complex needs. As a Level-III Support Worker, you will be required to be self-directed and be able to work unsupervised as part of a team, for extended periods.
Key components of the role include but are not limited to:
- Ethical Behaviour – that is non-discriminatory, respectful, consistent, timely and equitable.
- Communication - Listens effectively, conveys, and receives ideas, information, and direction.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making – Be able to work unsupervised and unbiased.
- Safety - Understands First-Aid, CPR, and WHS principles and can apply these when needed.
What we are looking for from you:
- Commitment to a person-centered work approach
- Passion for working with people with disability.
- Ability to establish effective and professional working relationships with our clients.
- Experience supporting clients with disability and/or mental health diagnoses.
- Ability to work across a 7-day roster which includes weekends & sleepovers.
- Highly developed communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate, encourage, and engage clients in all activities.
Essential Criteria:
- Cert IV, Diploma, or University degree in Disability, Individual Support, Youth Work, Community services, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of Disability Support work or personal care experience in Australia.
- Working with Children check clearance.
- NDIS Worker Check clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current Manual Handling, medication certification
- Current South Australia Driver’s License
- Current Police Check
- The legal right to work in Australia.
- MAPA training CPI (Blue Card)
