About the Company:
Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.
The Role:
We are currently looking for a Disability Support Worker for ongoing work, to partner with female participant in her 20's who has a young child and is based in Mackay, QLD. Our participant has sustained a spinal cord injury which has resulted in limited mobility and the need for 24/7 care.
Due the complexity of the participant, only candidates with high-level care experience will be considered (Bowel care, catheter care, hoisting etc)
There are multiple shifts available;
Monday to Sunday: 6am-4pm
Monday to Sunday: 4pm-6am
*Inactive sleepovers commence at 10pm
Pay Rates:
- Day - $43.75 per hour
- Evening - $48.13 per hour
- Inactive sleepover allowance - $158
- Saturday - $54.25 per hour
- Sunday - $69.75 per hour
- $0.96 travel allowance (applies only when travelling with participant to and from medical/rehab appointments)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assistance with personal care
- Bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
- Hoisting/transfers
- Supervision and assistance to participant when caring for her young child (bathing, drying, changing etc)
- Completing skin checks
- Administering Medication
- Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
- Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
- Community access + rehab appointments
Skills & Experiences:
- Australian Driver Licence
- Current National Police Clearance
- Current Blue Card
- Current Yellow Card
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
- Must be available for immediate start
