About the Company:
Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.
The Role:
Our participant is a friendly 46 year old female who has a spinal cord injury, due to a recent accident. She also has Schizoaffective Disorder, which is actively supported and managed.
We are seeking 2 x Support Workers to join her experienced care team, to provide personal care and generalised mental health support.
**Please note the Mental Health support required is limited only to the scope of a Support Worker, not a mental health professional. The boundaries and expectations of this will clearly outlined during the interview process and ongoing.
The role is on-going, with paid training shifts from week commencing ASAP
Due the complexity of the participant, she requires the following care:
- Bowel Therapy - *Training Provided*
- Hoisting - *Training Provided*
- Mental Health - *Training Provided*
- Cough Assist - Training will be provided for performing manual cough assist
Our participant requires 2:1 care with the current roster and available shifts below:
Monday - Sunday
Shift 1: 7am - 10am (2:1 assist)
Shift 2: 7pm - 9pm (2:1 assist)
Pay rates are:
- Day Shift - $38.75 p/h
- Afternoon Shift - $42.63 p/h
- Saturday Shift - $54.25 p/h
- Sunday Shift - $69.75 p/h
Key Responsibilities:
- Assistance with bowel therapy (stoma care)
- Hoisting / transfers
- Manual Cough Assistance (training will be provided)
- Daily skin checks
- Medication Administration
- Pressure wound management
- Personal care; washing, drying, dressing, grooming
- Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning, meal preparation & feeding
- Assistance with daily health & rehab exercises
- Community access + rehab appointments
Skills & Experiences: *Training Provided
- Experience with spinal cord injuries or other high complex care participants
- Experience with catheter management
- Bowel therapy
- Hoist / transfers
- Pressure injuries
- Medication Administration
- Manual Cough Assistance (training will be provided)
- Mental health training / experience (desired)
- Australian Driver License
- Current National Police Clearance
- Current Working with Children's Check
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- A proactive and positive attitude is very important to the participant
