Position Overview:
We are seeking reliable and passionate Support Workers to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering client-focused care, showing empathy, and treating others with dignity and respect. Your ability to build strong relationships, along with your honesty, helpfulness, and dependability, will make you a valuable asset to our team.
Support times and days for this participant - The participant resides in Camperdown
* 3 days on weekdays - 9am - 11am & 11.30am - 5.30pm
* 1 day on the weekend - 9am - 11am & 11.30am - 5.30pm - paid weekend rates as per Schads award rates
*Hours might be flexible *
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized support to clients in their daily activities.
- Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards clients' needs.
- Maintain clients' dignity and respect in all interactions.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and team members.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients in managing their household tasks and activities.
- Encourage and assist clients in participating in community activities and social engagements.
- Ensure all care provided aligns with clients' individual care plans.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or behavior to appropriate team members.
Requirements:
- Certificate 3 or better in Disability or equivalent
- Current First Aid certificate
- Police Check
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Check
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality, client-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and build relationships with clients and their families.
- Honest, reliable, and dependable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Must be available to start immediately.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Relevant qualifications in healthcare or support work are advantageous.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle may be required.
