Disability Support Work involves assisting a range of clients with a variety of needs in a number of different ways.

The Organisation

My Supports is a well-established NDIS support provider with over 500 staff across five states. With a new CEO and ambitions to double our reach, we seek a talented Disability Support Worker to help us grow and thrive.

The Role

Working in Neighbourhood Teams in your very own community, under the direction of a Neighbourhood Team Leader, the Support Worker assists and supports our clients, in line with their NDIS plan, to achieve their goals through a person-centred approach of ‘choice and control’.

Day to day duties may include (but are not limited to)

·Assisting clients to complete and/or develop life-skills in household duties and yard/home maintenance, such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, budgeting etc;

· Transporting clients to appointments and/or shopping for and/or with client;

· Assisting clients in building client self-image and self-confidence;

· Assisting clients in social and community participation;

· Promoting independence and well-being;

· Assisting clients with personal care and manual handling; including showering and bowel care;

· Medical administration (if qualified);

· Administration, e.g. daily journal reporting;

· Working within the NDIS guidelines and escalate relevant information to Team Leaders.

The Candidate

To be successful in this role, the candidate would have:

· An enthusiastic outlook, and a very open, friendly, bubbly personality;

· A compassionate and empathetic demeanour;

· Strong listening and oral communication skills and patience;

· Strong relationship-building skills;

· The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries;

· Experience with personal care (Desirable)

· Experience with Challenging behaviours (Desirable)

As per our client's request, we are recruiting for a female Support Worker to complete a variety of shifts in Middle Swan (WA), these include sleepover shifts.

• Disability Support Worker: 1 year (Preferred but not essential)
