- Seeking Support Workers who have specific experience with Challenging Behaviours, Mental Health and Autism
True Ability is a registered NDIS provider committed to delivering the highest standards of service and support to people living with disabilities in Melbourne’s South East (Frankston, Aspendale/Edithvale, Nunawading).
As a Support Worker, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to lead fulfilling and independent lives.
What are the must haves?
We are specifically seeking Support Workers with experience in:
• Managing severe behaviours
• Background in Mental Health disorders including Schizophrenia and Bipolar.
• Experience with Autism, challenging behaviours, and ABI Participants.
• Experience working 1:1 with people with disabilities who may present with Challenging Behaviours.
Responsibilities
• Assist client with support in a wide range of goal requirements
• Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Provide medication administration and support with medical appointments
• Help clients with household tasks, meal preparation, and cleaning
• Plan and engage in activities to promote social interaction and physical well-being
• Assist clients in accessing community resources and services
• Provide emotional support and advocacy for clients as needed
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and support needs
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other care providers when required
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and protocols
Role Requirements
• Valid or willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Valid
• Driver's license and reliable transportation with Comprehensive Insurance
• Certificate 3 or above in Individual Support
• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities and managing severe behaviours
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate and patient demeanour
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Working various shifts at either our participants' homes or our SDA home
