A market leader in its field with the backing of a multinational powerhouse. This business has a strong presence across Australia and New Zealand and caters to a broad range of industries, with their products being used in a multitude of ways and settings. Following a period of rapid growth and with more acquisitions on the horizon, they are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the team and operate as 2IC to the Financial Controller.
Your new role
Supervising and mentoring an Assistant Accountant, you will be the main point of contact for the operations teams in regard to financial matters. You will manage the day to day financial accounting activities of the ANZ business and will also be involved in automation of processes, general process improvements, integration of new businesses and other projects as they arise. Duties will include:
Ownership of the month end close process
Assisting with budget and forecast
Producing weekly cash flow forecasts
Preparing BAS, FBT and withholding tax as well as compliance reports
Preparing statutory financial reports
Management of fixed asset registers
What you'll need to succeed
You will have proven experience as a Financial Accountant with an ability to communicate financial concepts to non-finance staff clearly. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential in this role as you will be the liaison point for both corporate and operational staff. You will have the opportunity to manage and mentor the Assistant Accountant, so a calm and professional manner will assist with this. You will also have advanced Excel skills (macros preferred but not essential), be proficient in accounting software and will ideally have had some exposure to US GAAP/IFRS.
