About the Company:
Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.
The Role:
Our participant is a 38-year-old female who has a Severe Traumatic Brain Injury due to a motor vehicle accident in 2018.
As a result of her injuries, she experiences significant physical, cognitive and behavioural impairments. She has spasticity in her upper and lower limbs and she relies on a manual wheelchair for most mobility. She experiences pain in her bilateral upper limbs extending from her elbows to hands.
She requires 24/7 care and suitable candidates must have experience working with high complex care clients.
Requirements: *Training Provided*
Due to the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have prior experience working with complex care clients - which includes experience with:
- Clear understanding of restrictive practices - How they are implemented and reported
- Demonstrated ability to transport and assist participants in and out of transportation
- Ability to motivate participants who may feel demotivated from time-to-time
- Experience with assisted transfers - hoisting is ideal but not mandatory
- Experience working with cognitive communication impairments
- Experience with mental health/challenging behaviours
Current Roster:

Monday - Sunday
Day shift - 8am - 4pm
Inactive night shift - 4pm - 9am
Pay rates are:
- Day -$40.00 p/h
- Afternoon - $44.00 p/h
- Night - $44.80 p/h
- Saturday - $56.00 p/h
- Sunday - $72.00 p/h
- Inactive Sleepover allowance - $100
- $0.96 travel allowance (applies only when travelling with participant to and from medical/rehab appointments).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assistance with daily Health & Rehab exercises
- Community access + rehab appointments
- Assistance with toileting/prompting
- Assistance with meal preparation
- Assistance with domestic tasks
- Personal care duties
- Hoisting/transfers
- Daily skin checks
Skills & Experiences:
- Experience with spinal cord injuries / brain injury or other high complex care participants
- Prior experience with mental health/challenging behaviours
- Australian Driver License & motor vehicle
- Current Working with Children's Check
- Prior experience with pressure injuries
- Current National Police Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Hoist / transfers
