Disability Support Worker

Calling all passionate Disability Support Workers!

This role will require working in a diverse range of settings including but not limited to, a person’s home or place of residence, other services, community groups and other community settings. The Disability Support Worker will provide individual support to people with disability, using a flexible, responsive, and individualized approach to assist participants to meet their individual and articulated goals.

Skills & Experience:

• Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays
• Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop.
• Smartphone with internet access
• A current First Aid Certificate
• Minimum Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services (or willing to obtain)
• An unrestricted and current New South Wale driver’s licence
• Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance is preferred)
• Full Vaccination Certificate
• Passion for providing care
• Honest and positive can-do attitude
• Intermediate computer skills
• Fluent english skills

Key Responsibilities

• Follow person-centered support plans and behavior support plans respectfully
• Provide high quality support that addresses participant needs as articulated in their Plan and enhances their independence, abilities, community participation and quality of life.
• Participate in community activities and encourage clients to perform daily living tasks
• Track and document an individual’s progress through thorough record-keeping.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with UDS clients and their families.
