Sovereign Lives Victoria is seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker who speaks Chinese/Cantonese or Mandarin to join the team in Cranbourne.

We are looking for competent healthcare workers who possess the right empathy, interpersonal skills, ethics, and work experience with participants living with intellectual, physical disabilities as well as mental health issues.
About You
To be successful in this role you must:
MUST have experience with BOC - Behaviours of Concerns MUST have experience of minimum 1 year as a Disability Support Worker
Be reliable and have a good work ethic
Have pride on providing personal care with dignity and respect
Have a happy and bubbly personality
be able to build rapport easily with clients and co-workers
have the ability to be flexible, strong and resilient in challenging situations
Taking initiatives and participate in meetings/training
Supporting our participants if required, on an urgent basis/irregular hours/on call basis (with respect to the availability of our employees)
Leadership skills and Team Leader experience are most welcomed for potential job position as a SLV Team Leader in the near future.
You will be responsible for (but not limited to):
Supporting participants with personal hygiene, self-care, meal preparation, general tasks and domestic duties.
Maintaining cleanliness.
Completing shift progress notes.
Assistance with social/recreational and community access services
Emotion, positive, and professional rapport building
Maintaining professional boundaries
Peg feeding
Requirements for this role:
Experience with mental illness & intellectual disability is essential
ABI experience preferred
Minimum Cert III in Individual Support (Disability)
NDIS Worker Screening Check ID, or willing/able to obtain
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the Disability sector
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Current National Police Check
Current Working with Children's Check
Valid Australian Driver's License and comprehensively insured vehicle
