We have 3 new positions for Support Workers to care for one of our very special participants.
About you:
You are an amazing Disability Support Worker with availability throughout the week to work as a part of a vibrant team for a 2 week respite in Burleigh Heads. There will be ongoing work after this period and would suit workers residing around the Logan areas.
Candidates with a Mental Health or Nursing background looking for a Support Role are encouraged to apply, our Participant loves getting out and about so this fantastic role is jam packed with amazing fun filled days and things to do that are prebooked with our awesome Liaison team.
You are comfortable working with people with complex health and behaviours who need significant supervision, care and assistance. You have excellent bedside manner with all of your Personal Cares and consistently practice empathy through facilitating choice and control. You excel at maintaining a safe environment and are competent in ensuring compliance is always maintained. For this role, ideally you must also love music, arts, books and chess would also be great!
You are good at working remotely through great leadership skills, whilst providing first class care.
Your communication and comprehension skills for this role must be excellent and you have a go getter personality and love to use your initiative to complete tasks and see goals come to fruition.
About the role:
Working in a stunning apartment on the beach for 2 weeks with a private room for accommodation, come and help our Participant have the time of his life!!
Participant is a chilled and switched on fellow, who loves a good band. The respite has a jam packed itinerary including meal plan to manage diabetes. All support from the liaison team is also available 24/7 so you are supported and nurtured to do your best in the role also!
Our client although in his late 50's has great mobility so you will need to be able to keep going with him throughout the day and evening. Although there are no personal cares required only prompting, there will be wound care plans available to follow throughout this time.
Providing supervisory, personal care, meal time and social supports .
Writing progress notes and incident reports during your shift.
Flexibility to work with short notice providing coverage for staff who are unable to work on the same day or week.

The successful candidate MUST have:
Experience working in the Disability/Aged Care sector.
Driver's license & own a car
Comprehensive Car Insurance
Qualification (minimum certificate 3 in Disability, Individual Support or Aged Care) or Mental Health Nurse or similar.
Working With Children Check (Where necessary)
First Aid/CPR certificate
Availability and willingness to work sleepovers as well as day shifts (Shifts are all 8 hours duration)
Ability to work independently & as part of a team
NDIS Screening preferred or QLD Current Yellow and Blue cards
Current Police check/certificate
100 points ID - Passport/Driving License/Aged Card etc.
