Disability Support Worker (Casual)

National Disability and Mental Health Services (NDMHS) is looking for experienced Disability Support Workers with good communication skills.

The company provides a wide range of services to individuals with a disability and their families. We provide services across Sydney and have many positions available.

The Role:

We are looking to recruit someone who is motivated to provide a range of flexible supports to people with a disability. We are seeking someone who is experienced and passionate and have a positive attitude to support individuals in leading a more independent and fulfilled life.

You will have the ability to assist people with:

• Personal care
• Community engagement
• Domestic assistance
• Learning support
• Behaviour Management & Intervention

Core objectives include:

· Provide support to patients with physical and/or intellectual disabilities

· Understand and provide appropriate care to patients with low needs to patients with high needs

who demonstrate a range of challenging behaviours.

· Assisting with activities relating to daily living, community support, and empowerment

· Work under general guidance from the person seeking support, and their family, within clearly

defined guidelines

· Providing personal care to people with disabilities

Requirements:

• Current CPR & First Aid (OR willing to obtain before joining)
• Working With Children Check (OR willing to obtain before joining)
• NDIS Worker Check(OR willing to obtain before joining)
• Insured car & valid driving license
• Manual Handling certificate (OR willing to obtain before joining)
• You must be triple vaccinated against COVID. Applicants may have a valid medical exemption in place of these vaccination requirements

Pay rate $31-$33 per hour
