AddressCasual Disability Support Worker - All rounder/back up.
This position would suit applicant prepared to travel to four locations to cover shifts for staff on leave with possibility of permanent shifts. Shifts are sleepover. eg: start in afternoon, sleep over and finish next day.
Locations: Birkdale, Pimpama, Coopers Plains, Lawnton.
Pathways Support Services provides Disability Supports to participants to live with greater independence in their own homes.
In this role you will be responsible for providing accommodation support, living and life skills and ensuring that our clients have the opportunity to develop to the fullest extent of their abilities and desires.
- You will be passionate about working with people and display a readiness to go above and beyond in order to promote a positive environment.
- You will be a team player and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain consistent routines for clients that are aligned to their NDIS goals and Individual Support Plans.
- You will have previous experience as a Disability Support Worker, or in a similar role, that has required you to establish a warm and personal relationship with clients, to encourage their active participation within the community and to provide guidance with establishing healthy relationships inside and outside of the home
Highly desirable experience and attributes:
- Experience with Autism and Intellectual Impairment
- Personal care experience
- Mental health experience
- Ability to stay calm if the client is upset
- A relaxed and friendly disposition, with a good sense of humour
- Ability to follow strict meal plans and food preparation procedures
- Willingness to be active and engage the client in preferred activities.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Ability to acquire Worker Screening (Yellow) Card
- Fully Vaccinated
- Ability to acquire First Aid and CPR certificate
- Current Australian drivers licence and own transport
- Computer literate
- You must be able to commit to sleepovers
