The team:
In our Disability Team, YellowBridge QLD provides support to a wide range of people in the Toowoomba area, and we are looking for people who have something to bring to our team as Support Worker within our Disability program.
The role and you:
In this position you will be required to deliver a high standard of support to people with a disability in all areas of their lives. This means supporting people at home and in the community to help them with their daily needs and achieve their short and long term goals.
You must be able to work independently, show initiative and understand the unique requirements of each person's support. You must be willing to adapt to new situations quickly and be available for flexible services delivery. You will be required to adhere to high quality workplace health and safety standards, participate in professional development and be an honourable representative of YellowBridge Qld in the community. Shifts will include evenings, weekends and sleepovers, only apply if you are available for these shifts.
Position Requirements:
- High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a multifunctional team and interact with a broad cross-section of people
- Strong oral communication and fluent in English language
- Experience with maintaining records of service delivery, or ability to acquire the knowledge
- Minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent; preferably a minimum of 12 months supporting clients with complex behaviours
- Availability to work within a 24/7 support environment including evenings, weekends and sleepovers
- All applicants are required to have Yellow and Blue cards.
- Positive Behaviour Support Plan training an advantage
- Any skills or training with complex behaviours would be considered favourably
