This role is ideal for candidates who have:
-A Compassionate nature
-Initiative and a willingness to learn
-An open mind and respect for diversity (LGBTQIA+, First Nations Australians, -International cultures and religions)
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with participants and team members
-A passion for growth-based practices including capacity building and dignity of risk
-Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Successful candidates will also possess:
-Driver's Licence (No restrictions)
-Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
-Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
-NDIS Worker screening check (Yellow Card)
-All NDIS training modules available on the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission website (completed previously or willing to obtain)
-First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain)
-Fully COVID19 vaccinated (gov requirement)
-Current Police check (or willing to obtain)
Ideal, but not essential:
-Experience in Disability support (highly preferred)
-ASD/ADHD/Mental Health work experience OR Lived Experience
-Experience with adults and children with disabilities
-Certificate III or IV in disability
Tasks & Responsibilities:
-Assistance with daily tasks and activities
-Community access and community inclusion
-Emotional and mental health support
-Behaviour support (some clients)
-Mobility support (some clients)
-Transport help to appointments, therapies, social events, shopping and more
-Learning opportunities
-Home maintenance and cooking
-Encouraging healthy and positive family relationships and friendships
