New Haven Farm Home are looking to hire a Male Disability Support Worker to fulfill CP (Community Participation) activities on a casual basis for the clients that reside at our facility.
Due to the potential behaviours that could arise and supervisions in place whilst out in the community, a Male is best suited to this role.
The ideal candidate for this position is:
- Someone who has had experience working with individuals who have an intellectual disability.
- Has the motivation and patience to spend the time to encourage the client to complete their scheduled activity and not deter from the activity.
- Has the ability to follow the plan, stick to the budget and create a meaningful activity for the individuals involved.
- Can ensure that the client will always be supervised when out in the community.
- Has the experience and confidence to deescalate behaviours within the community if/when they arise.
- There is limited personal care but if assistance is required, be willing and able to support with this.
The successful candidate will be rostered to complete CP activities for multiple clients who reside at NHFH. The shift times will be during the daytime and can be anywhere from 4-8 hours duration.
To be successful in this position you must have the follow certifications/ licenses:
- Hold a current drivers license
- Ndis Screening Check
- Working With Childrens Check (WWCC)
- First Aid and CP Certificates.
- 2 Years experience working in a similar position.
