Who We Are Looking For:
We're in search of a compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis under the SHADS award. This role is perfect for someone passionate about enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities, promoting independence, and facilitating their inclusion in the community.
Our need is for Gold Coast-based Carers to commence June 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, advocating for their choice, independence, and control.
- Assist with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores.
- Encourage social inclusion and facilitate participation in community activities, outings, and appointments.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Comply with all relevant legislation, ensuring the fair and respectful treatment of all clients.
- Mandatory: Hold a current Blue Card, Yellow Card, and First Aid Certificate.
- Mandatory. Must hold a current driver’s licence and access to your own registered motor vehicle for use during shifts with participants.
- Essential: Possession of current Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) as a minimum.
- Proven experience in working with individuals with disabilities in a community setting at min of 2 years.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a knack for building trusting relationships.
