We are looking for a staff member who is passionate about supporting people to be active, include participants in their communities to reach their goals. Ideally, you will be reliable and energetic, with the ability to use your initiative and engage participants in a range of shared hobbies and interests. You will enjoy working in a small team environment as well as independently as required. We can assist you in becoming NDIS-aware, knowledgeable, effective, and respected professionals in this field. Being a flexible team member with a willingness to work a variety of shifts is highly desirable. If you possess these qualities, we would love to hear from you.
Disability Support Worker daily tasks:
Assisting and supporting our participants to achieve their goals, complete daily activities, domestic assistance, personal care, and community access activities. Enhancing our participant’s social skills to be able to connect with friends and family.
- Accessing their community (Appointments, shopping, swimming, bowling, sport, art galleries, movies, community events etc)
- Completing domestic assistance tasks
- Assisting with personal care in a respectful manner
- Mealtime management
- Managing emotions and behaviours
- Improving participant’s daily living and job skills
- Be a good communicator & a good listener, without judgment
- Show initiative & think outside the box
Essential Criteria:
- Min Cert III in the Disability sector
- Hold a valid driver’s license with your own comprehensively insured vehicle
- Working with Children check
- NDIS clearance check
- Current First Aid Certificate
- 2 x Covid vaccinations
- Have a current resume with two referees
- Fluent in English
- Vibrant and energetic
- Be a mature-minded, confident individual who thrives on working as part of a team.
- Have a caring and empathetic nature
- Be able to write shift notes and incident reports
