About the role
We are currently seeking compassionate and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in the Yandina area. In this role you will be providing support to clients with motor neurone disease.
Motor neurone disease, known as MND, means that messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste, which can affect how people walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.
Supporting client with MND requires an empathetic approach, string relationship building skills and the ability to communicate very clearly.
You will be supported by an experienced team leader and have access to additional training to manage the complexities of this role. You will also be key in assisting with the client’s individual care needs in areas such as wellbeing, housekeeping, meal preparation, and daily activities.

What do I need?
- Local work experience in the disability sector will be essential.
- A Certificate III in Individual Support or a Certificate IV in Disability is preferred.
- Practical experience working with high medical needs –highly regarded.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and current Blue Card.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
- Resilience and the ability to work within a team.
