We are seeking a skilled and experienced Control System Discipline Engineer to join a leading project team based in Perth CBD, on a contract basis with an immediate start available for the right candidate. You will be instrumental in supporting a portfolio of significant asset projects through their entire lifecycle, including initial planning, design, implementation, and execution phases.
ROLE AND RESPONCIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Project Engineers to review and critique Control Systems deliverables from consultants, ensuring compliance with both legislative and project-specific standards.
- Contribute to the Basis of Design (BoD) and Scopes of Work (SoW), identifying and applying relevant standards and design deliverables.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on project deliverables such as Functional Descriptions, Control Loop Schematics, Network Block Diagrams, and Commissioning Plans.
- Act as a subject matter expert in process control systems engineering to optimise project value and ensure technical compliance, risk mitigation, and safety.
- Engage in technical meetings, workshops, and review sessions, offering expert advice and ensuring the adherence to quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and value optimisation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Previous experience working on heavy industrial projects, particularly in ports and mines, as well as fixed plant and balance machine experience, is highly desirable.
- proven background of reviewing designs and work effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
- Exposure to Allen Bradley ControlLogix, with experience in other PLC or DCS platforms and industrial machinery control, especially within the Iron Ore sector, being highly regarded.
- A degree in Control Systems, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field, alongside experience in project engineering or Governance and Technical Stewardship, is preferred.
- Additional experience in Functional Safety or Systems Engineering is beneficial but not mandatory.
This contract position offers a competitive hourly rate and the chance to contribute to significant asset projects with a major player in the industry. Working on a Monday-to-Friday in a Perth-based office.
