About the role…
Based in the Sydney branch, APG is looking for a “hands on” positive, enthusiastic, and reliable Dispatch Team Leader to join our Dispatch Team. The role is responsible for motivating your team to achieve daily targets, maintaining high standards of quality, promoting a safe working environment whilst ensuring the best and most efficient service possible is provided to keep our customers happy.
The Dispatch Team Leader is responsible for leading the Dispatch section within the Warehouse. Main duties will include:
- Picking, Packing & Dispatch of customer orders.
- Managing inventory, asset and returns.
- Loading and Unloading of delivery vehicles where required.
- Support the Warehouse Management with the day-to-day operations and be responsible for guiding the team to be efficient in achieving business targets.
- Control the Pick allocation work on the computer.
- Provide line management to the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring issues, and ensuring KPI targets and quality standards are met.
- Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely.
- Comply with ALL company policies, guidelines, directions & QA practices and ensure the team is appropriately trained on the procedures.
- Work closely with the Dispatch supervisor to ensure the team is operating at optimal capacity.
- Actively work with the team to pick, pack or when the workloads dictate.
- Manage any site security when required.
- Working hours are Monday – Thursday 2.30Pm -10.30 Pm and Friday 12pm - 8pm.
We are looking for someone with the right attitude, ability to be adaptable, think on your feet, communicate efficiently and work well within a team.
We are looking for a Dispatch Team Leader who has:
- A good understanding of ERP systems.
- Ability to work within a rapidly changing and diverse environment.
- Prior experience as a Team Leader or similar role.
- Demonstrated background in people supervision in an operational environment.
- Knowledge or practical experience with Health Safety & Environment (HSE) practices and legislation
- Highly developed problem-solving capability complemented by an authentic and passionate customer-centric approach.
- With excellent communication skills, you build great relationships.
- Forklift Licence.
