The Domain Architect – Corporate Services provides strategic architecture services to Corporate and Enterprise Services Domain. The role leads the development of mid to long term strategic planning, especially the required architecture that maps business goals to a technical design, leads the technology strategies that underpin business value and the roadmaps for the Corporate Domain ensuring strategies are current and aligned with business needs and technology developments (within and outside of Qantas).
As a member of the Domain Leadership team, the Domain Architect will be co-located and works collaboratively to prioritise technology needs, taking into account the wider enterprise architecture strategies and principles to establish tailored technology strategies.
On a day to day basis the Domain Architect provides mentoring and technical leadership to projects, reviews commercial implications of decisions aligned to the technical requirements and decides upon trade off options. Ultimately the role will ensure that development activity is linked to strategic benefit and be a key decision maker to ensure that it occurs.
You’ll have:
- 6+ years of Technology Strategy and Architecture experience in a medium scale environment (5,000 users +)
- Experience related to commercial business domain including: Finance, Human Resources, Legal and other corporate functions
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
- Experience with architecture business critical systems
- Experience with largescale / enterprise level projects
- Sound knowledge of the asset portfolio / lifecycle management practices
- Experience in developing target reference architecture and Technology strategy for a business area and or enterprise
- Experience in architecture related quality assurance practices
- Experience as a Solution Architect, Senior System Business Analyst on both large and small technology projects
- Experience with technology system development lifecycle particularly the end-to-end development of the solution from concept to operate
- Experience with the management of a small team of Solution Architects / Designers / Engineers
- Good general understanding of technology and emerging technology trends
- Strong understanding of and ability to articulate the business value of specific architecture practices
- Understanding of financial governance process and experience in reviewing business cases, financial estimates
- Proven ability to plan and prioritise in a high-pressure environment
- Experience with working within a dynamic and fast paced team environment
- Experience in aviation and/or travel related industry is desirable
- Business results orientation, organizational awareness
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with an ability to communicate in both technical and business language, ability to translate complex technical language into business impacts
